January 10, 2009 by miteachI’m helping MIT run a nationwide contest to get kids to make videos about SAT Vocab. We’re looking for short videos about 1-2 min in length. To see an example, check out our contest website @ BrainyFlix.com.
Once the videos have been submitted, we’ll allow viewers to vote on the videos, and we’ll award $600 in prize money to the video that receives the most number of votes. $200 of the prize will go directly to the winner(s) and $400 to the class or school club chosen by that person(s). To further encourage participation, we’ll give away 1 free iTunes song for every 5 videos a contestant submits or refers (up to the first 1,000 video submissions).
We have begun accepting video submissions! Other important dates are shown below:
- Video submission opens: 1/1/2009
- Video submission ends: 3/16/2009
- Voting opens: 3/23/2009
- Voting ends: 4/5/2009
- Winners announced: 4/13/2009

Well, if I wasn’t able to get you to do it, maybe my good friend Jill can. (That’s not her stage name, so we really are Jack and Jill – har har har). She’s helping to make some sample vocab videos for the contest. I know you guys will love her just as much as I do once you check her out!
